Every year the Heard Shop commissions one of our artists to create a limited-edition of 25 ornaments in an exclusive design, as our signature ornament. This year's limited edition signature ornament was created by Lorenzo and Mary Tafoya (Santo Domingo).
Known for her inlay design creativity, Mary chose shells, turquoise and apple coral to depict a thunderbird- a design made famous by Depression era Santa Domingo artists. It also includes the earth and star.
The numbered edition of just 25 ornaments is priced at $175 each.
In addition to the huge selection of varying ornaments, the shop will also be hosting Debi Flanigan ( Bugarini) of Mata Ortiz , Chihuahua , Mexico as their special guest artist.
Debi is widely known for her very clever depictions of animals native to the desert southwest in nativities, as ornaments, and other decorations in clay. She will be here on Friday, November 27 which is opening day of the marketplace and again on Saturday November 14th.
