Katsina Market is April 14!

The Heard Museum Shops will be hosting our 11th Katsina Doll Marketplace Saturday, April 14 from 10am- 4pm in the Steele Auditorium. Over 100 Hopi carvers will be here with their original works to sell. This is a tremendous opportunity to see such a variety of carvings in one place and to meet these talented artists.

This year's featured carver is Arthur Holmes Jr., who donated his carving "Chili Runner" to be auctioned off as part of the event. One lucky ticket will win the doll plus a poster of the event autographed by all the attending carvers! Tickets are available in the shop and cost $2.00 each or 6 for $10.00. You can come in or call our main shop line at 602-252-8344 to order over the phone. You do not need to be present to win. This doll is valued at $5,000.00!

Dane Hart will also be signing copies of his book Hopi Katsinas- A Key to Identification, which is a great reference for finding and cross referencing the names of different Katsina dolls.
