Visiting Author for Indigenous Visions!

Please be sure to join the Heard Museum’s Books & More Shop in welcoming Alison Owings, author of Indian Voices: Listening to Native Americans for a signing and reading on Saturday, January 21^st beginning at 10 A.M. Alison will be accompanied by Patty Talahongva, a Hopi journalist who is the subject of one chapter of the book, which should be very entertaining.

The book is a fascinating look at more than a dozen contemporary Native Americans who candidly express their views on their lives today, as well as the past and future of their respective tribes. Alison, who is a non-Native, is equally candid about exactly how much she didn’t know about American Indians when she started the research for the book.
