More Katsina Market News

Katsina Market is this Saturday and here are some more details:

10th Annual Katsina Doll Marketplace
April 2, 2011
Heard Museum, Phoenix, Arizona

This event is dedicated to the memory of our friend and colleague Barton Wright.

In addition to being the largest gathering of Katsina doll carvers in the world, there will be several authors signing books, artists demonstrating their craft and musical performances by Ryon Polequaptewa and his band, “Thunderboy”.

Event Schedule:
Market open to the public: 10:00am – 4:00pm in Steele Auditorium and Center Courtyard
Musical performances: 11:30 am and 2:00pm outside Steele Auditorium
Book signings: 11:00 am – 2:00pm outside the north entrance to the Shop
Raffle Drawing: 3:00pm in Steele Auditorium; you need not be present to win

The Raffle:
Raffle tickets for the “signature” Katsina and poster will be available outside the entrance for the auditorium and in the Museum Shop. A single raffle ticket is $2 or you can buy 6 tickets for $10.

To Make a Purchase at the Market:
Please pay for all Katsina doll purchases inside Steele Auditorium.
We have two cashiers this year for your convenience.

We accept cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover & personal checks

You will need to keep the computer generated sales receipt you receive from the cashier to exit Steele auditorium with your dolls. If needed, the Heard Museum Shop will package any purchases for travel (we will not pack for shipping) at no charge.

For Your Convenience:
Restrooms are located in the center courtyard next to the Courtyard Café.

While You Are Here:
Please visit our Museum Shop and new Books & More shop. The Museum Shop features over 1000 Katsina dolls, the finest of American Indian jewelry, pottery, baskets, fine art and folk art while the Books and More shop features our extensive collection of books, stationary, t-shirts and souvenirs.
